Meet Alex

Growing Up

Alex grew up in Philomont, Virginia, with his parents and older brother. His family would often visit Clarke County to hike Bear's Den, play at Dinosaur Land, and get summer vegetables from Nall's. After graduating from Loudoun Valley High School, he attended Virginia Tech where he double majored in Political Science and History. Alex graduated cum laude from the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America in 2020 and passed the bar exam the same year.

Legal Practice

After graduating from law school, Alex became an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in Madison County, Virginia, working under the Honorable Clarissa Berry. He served as a grant-funded prosecutor for domestic violence and sexual assault cases. In addition, he also handled numerous felony, misdemeanor, and traffic cases including construction fraud, strangulation, abduction, protective order violations, drug possession, and driving under the influence.

Coming to Clarke

Alex resides in Berryville with his wife and two children. He joined the Clarke County office as the Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for the Honorable Anne Williams in January 2023. In addition to managing dockets of felony, misdemeanor, and traffic cases, Alex has a range of responsibilities in the office, including handling firearm rights and license restoration petitions, expungement petitions, FOIA requests, conducting law enforcement trainings, participating in the Drug Task Force, and leading the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), which brings local agencies together on cases involving child sexual assault, physical abuse, and neglect.

Dedicated to the Community

Alex's lifelong aspiration has been to serve and protect the community as a prosecutor. As a father of two young children, he recognizes the significance of maintaining safety for all families in Clarke County. His commitment to justice and his role as a prosecutor will keep Clarke County a safe place for years to come.
